Lightweight construction

Weight is an important factor when speed or fuel efficiency is an issue. TBV has experience with using light materials like aluminum and composite and designs composite parts and products in cooperation with specialist composite companies. The weights of shipboard systems located higher on ships have a significant influence on the stability of the ship. Every kilogram saved on the highest point of the ship saves three kilograms weight in the keel necessary for stability. Weight saving can influence resistance of the ship for an important part and can therefore decrease fuel consumption.
